Homemade Wipes
It is incredible the amount of wipes you go through with a baby. As a young mom I was desperate for a healthy version of wipes that fit in my budget. From the moment my kids were born, I used my own homemade wipes. They are super easy to make and perfect for everything from diaper changes to messy faces.
They are gentle on skin and clean well. Perfect for sensitive buns or just a budget friendly, healthy wipe.
I notice a big difference between these wipes and store-bought wipes when it comes to diaper rashes! This wipe recipe is so much gentler on my baby’s buns. And with the Encompass Farming Oil in the recipe, it also adds some extra nutrients to my baby’s bum.
Homemade Wipes Recipe
15-20 pumps Foaming Hand Soap or 2-3 T Baby Soap of Choice
15 pumps Encompass Farming Oil or 2 T Baby Oil of Choice
2.5 cups hot/boiling water
Directions
Begin by cutting the Viva Paper Towels in half. You can just use a hand saw or I use a power miter saw and do the whole bag of paper towels at once. Once your paper towels are cut in half, remove the cardboard roll from the middle. I do this by running my finger along the edges to disconnect it from the paper towels at the center and then pull it out. Place the paper towels in an airtight container that will fit the whole role. Make sure the roll is facing up so that you can pull sections of the towels out from the center.
Mix the boiling water, soap, and oil. Pour over the top of the paper towel roll. Let set for a few hours.
Notes*
You can always add more water if you want your wipes moister or if they start to dry out.
The smooth viva paper towels are key in a soft wipe. Any textured paper towels will be much rougher on your baby’s bum.
