DIY Gold Circle Centerpiece
Imagine ivory cheese cloths running down the center of a black tablecloth. This beautiful gold ring and floral arrangement in the center of the table and small tea light candles running down the runner on both sides. These centerpieces are the perfect customized wedding or shower decor. Bonus…they are super fun to make!
What You’ll Need
Black Cardstock
4x6 Photo Prints
Double Sided Tape (if you are one to use double sided tape often, like me, I recommend this one)
Roses With Stems (artificial)
Greenery of Choice
Scissors
Wire Cutters
Step One: Matte Your Photos
First, I trimmed 1/2 in. off the side and top of my pictures. On most of them it ended up being 1/4 in. on every side to keep the subjects in the center. Then I cut black cardstock measuring 5.75 in. x 3.75 in.
I rounded the top corners on the pictures and the cardstock, leaving the bottoms square. Next, I attached the pictures to the cardstock with double sided tape, putting a picture on each side of the cardstock.
Step Two: Attach Photos and Foam to Ring
Now for the fun green foam. I cut the foam to the size I wanted and then cut a slit running down the center of the foam. Make sure not to cut all the way through when making your slit.
I slid the picture into the slit and then trimmed the foam to the edges of the picture.
To secure the foam block to the wooden stand of the ring, I used the floral wire, but you could easily super glue it as well. I simply didn’t want to make them permanent.
I slid some wire through the center of the foam bock and tide it around the wooden block. I had to make sure the wire was flat on the bottom of the block so that it still stood on its own.
Step Three: Prepping Your Flowers and Greenery
The roses I bought came with wires on them, but if yours did not, you will need to attach wire to them. I trimmed the wires on the roses, so they were only a couple inches long.
For the greenery I used a garland that I cut up into pieces. To attach the wire to the greenery, I wrapped the wire around the stem of the greenery and used the floral tape to secure it. You don’t want your stems to be too long, so trim them up if you need to. You really just need enough room to wrap some wire and tape around it.
Step Four: Make the Magic Happen
Once all your flowers and greenery are equipped with wire, you can begin putting together your display of wonder. Simply stab the flowers and greenery in wherever you want them!
I found it easiest to start with the flowers, followed by the larger pieces of greenery, and then the smaller pieces to fill in the gaps.
On one of the rings, I added another flower on the side of the ring. It was a little tricky to get it to where the wire did not show, but it can be done!
And you're done! This was a super fun project, and it turned out being really easy too! I am excited to use them at my sister’s bridal shower.
I hope you can enjoy it half as much as I did. Good luck and happy crafting!
